{March 10, 2009}   Nick Is All Gussied Up!

He's A Ninja Pirate Scarf Baby!

So, as you can tell by the previous 11 or so posts, made from my iPod Touch (except for the one about songs, which I set to auto-update, in case something went wrong), I went and stole a baby.  However…. something went a tad bit awry in the process of transporting said baby back home.  Here’s a picture of him:

His Name Is Nick

You see, I accidentally wandered into a New Age haberdashery, and there happened to be a potato salesman there… and well, anyway, little Nick suffered a bit as a result, but I’m going to gussy him up, and make him presentable to the everyday zoo-going public.

Also, we’ve hit 18 hours, which is a time I like to call The Barrier.  After this point, no matter how good I’m feeling, if I go and find a nice dark place with a comfortable bed to lie down in, I will fall asleep within seconds.  So, CONSTANT VIGILANCE!

I’m gonna go pack and such, and then post when I’ve finished!

{March 10, 2009}   First Batch Of Incentive Songs

I finally got to use my the first $30 of my $150! (the other 20 had already been spent on applications, but not music)!  I purchased:

The Sailor Song Toy-Box
“You’re a Pirate”    LazyTown Cast
“Everytime We Touch”    Cascada
“Sandstorm”    Darude
“DotA (Radio Edit)”    Basshunter
“Raver’s Fantasy (Radio Mix)”    TUNE UP!
Geordie Gabry Ponte
“Dance Dance (Radio Mix)”    TUNE UP!
Friends! Luna’s Ceiling
Siriusly Smiling
“Thoughts on the Ministry of Magic”    The Whomping Willow

Further thoughts on them after listening to them!

[AUTO-UPDATE]

Y’see, carrying a laptop around for videographing purposes would be highly awkward, and potentially disastrous.  So, I need to steal a baby so it can hold my laptop for me.  Plus, babies make great base units of exchange.

In the past two hours, I cleared about 50 gigs of space on my laptop, finished off my Vault, chatted with the friend who is too busy stimulating the economy to look at animal wangs, and made a list of things to do and pack.  I still feel tired, but just a dull ache, that’s only strengthened by the lack of light.  Will get better during the day.

I finally get to buy some music!  YAY!!!  So, I’m gonna do that, make a list of everything I bought, and then GO STEAL A BABY.

Hopefully, I will return by 6.  Fortunately, with DST, everything will stay darker longer, so I have an improved chance of success.

Here’s hoping this doesn’t end very badly!

{March 10, 2009}   To Do List

I need to make a list of things to do, as well as things to pack, for my epic adventure at the zoo later today.

To Do:

1.  Steal a baby.

2.  Shanghai a friend (may be unsuccessful)

3.  Change the settings on the laptop to maximize battery length.

4.  Check on Visa gift card’s balance.

5.  Obsessively check email and Facebook to see if anyone will go with me to the zoo.

6.  Pack the necessary items.

7.  Check the weather.

8.  Eat a BIG breakfast.

9.  Put cookies into bag.

10.  Take most everything out of backpack.

To Pack:

[3.  Laptop bag with accessories (may resort to only backpack)]

4.  Backpack with supplies (may minimize down to laptop bag)

5.  Power Cord

6.  Power cord extension

10.  Hogwarts hoodie

11.  Jacket?

12.  Baby

13.  Vault

14.  Notebook

15.  Writing Utensils

16.  House Key (ZooKey more important)

[17.  Laptop speakers (if room, only slight chance of using them)]

18.  Trail mix, or assorted nuts, or power bars, things like that

19.  Copy of Zinsser, so I can make a series of photographs entitled “Zinsser at the Zoo”

20.  Hats! (fedora AND ski)

21.  WATER BOTTLE(S)

22.  Picnic Blanket?

23.  DUCT TAPE (important)

24.  Checkbook

29.  Kazoos

More will be added as I think of them, and items will be striked through as they are completed, and bolded if they will not be included.

So, the past two hours have basically consisted of me preparing to clear out space on my computer so I can record vids tomorrow without fear of using up memory, and trying to rope people into going to the zoo with me.  My Facebook status is currently:

Bobby Lang

wants to know if anyone wants to skip class/job/WoW to go to the zoo today. There may be babies and the stealing thereof.”

Speaking of which, that latter topic will be discussed at greater length in two hours.  Anywho, my first request to go to the zoo was denied, because apparantly one needs money to survive, and the lottery isn’t as rigged as it used to be, so now many people are turning to the unthinkable: jobs.  Or at least the searching thereof.

“Thereof” is like tax evasion: a little goes a long way, but too much spoils the soup.

Anywho, I plan to watch Heroes and Dollhouse, drink more Vault, eat some cookies, organize more files, and harass more high schoolers to go to the zoo (and/or commit Grand Theft Infant) with me.

Sorry about the last couple official check-ins being very, very short.  So, I took the bus home, got there at about 8:20, checked my email, Facebook, Twitter, stuff like that, then got pulled into a UStream chat with the Headmistress of The Leaky Cauldron, a huge Harry Potter fansite.  And then I was going to do a longer post, but then I ended up watching “Harold and Maude”, and old film made in the 70′s, about a young dude and an old bird who attend funerals as a hobby.  Very, very funny.

Then I spent about half an hour killing ants, and thinking that “Poisoned Caulking” would be a good band name.  Around that time I started to feel tired, so I broke into the Vault, which really hasn’t affected me on way or another.  It’s not a good sign that I’m tired already, but I think it’s more that I know I’m going to be very tired later, and my body is exhausted in advance.  Hopefully tomorrow goes better.

Since then, I’ve been hanging out online, and I recorded the following video, about Reader’s Digest:

See you in 2 hours!

Speaking of which, I still need to see “Watchmen”.

Anywho, a few general updates, as well as updates to the rules.

Firstly, I HAZ A UTUB ACCONT.  It’s http://www.youtube.com/user/EpicQuest2, and if I want to use videos to supplement one of my blog entries, they will be uploaded via that account.

Secondly, I mostly drink Green flavor, but Red flavor Vault is actually pretty darn tasty.

Thirdly, you know all of those carefully thought-out rules?  Well, all of them have been scrapped even favor of these two rules:

1.  Post a blog entry every 2 hours, about.

2.  Don’t fall asleep.

I’m pretty much taking up an “anything goes” sort of philosophy to this now.  I will still try to stay by the rules for as long as possible, but if it’s a choice between taking another energy drink, or succumbing to exhaustion, I’m gonna take that drink.  Because I really wanna do this thing.

However, I’m still keeping the rule about incentives, but I’m changing it.  For the first $50, I can start spending it at 4:00 this morning.  The next one will be at 4:00 the next morning, and then the last one will be pretty much anytime the following evening/morning.  Because the zoo opens at 9, and if I followed my original plan of every 20 hours, I would be late to the zoo, and I want to max out my zoo time.  If I get there late, there will be long lines, and I’ll never get to ride a penguin.

So, I’ll try to stick to my rules, but I will ditch them in favor of the main goal – staying awake for 72 hours – if need be.  Also, I (FINALLY) get to use my iTunes Gift Card that I got for filling out some survey for PCC (I probably filled out “Don’t Know” for all of them) in 4 and a half hours!  Official Check-in in 30 minutes!

{March 9, 2009}   THE GREAT EMU WAR

I shit you not.  There was, in fact, a great emu war.  AND THE EMUS WON.

Addendum: Bigger post to make up for the criminally short posts sometime between now and midnight, then an update at midnight.  The midnight update will say all I’ve done tonight, and the post within the next hour will be about rules.

{March 9, 2009}   Hour 10: DIE ANTS, DIE!

I love the smell of Poisoned Caulk in the evening.
